Look Hot This Weekend: Wear Winged Eyeliner

Look Hot This Weekend: Wear Winged Eyeliner

Loni Albert is Cosmo's associate beauty editor who knows a thing or two about applying—and flaunting the hell out of—a 60s-inspired cat eye. (She's even mastered putting it on during her subway ride to work. Ah, yeah, she's crazy-talented.) We got her to spill on how to copy her sexy winged eyeliner.
Her main secret is using the right liner. Loni swears by Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black, $10.95, drugstore.com). It has a marker-like tip that allows it to go on easy—and it stays put all day.
Now, for her fool-proof technique:
1. Prep your eyelids.

First, apply a neutral eyeshadow or pressed powder onto your lids. It helps the liquid liner distribute evenly and also prevents your eyelids from getting greasy, which can make your liner smudge.
2. Tap into your inner artist.

Starting at the inner corner of your eye, draw the liner along your upper lash line, pressing gently as you begin so the line starts out thin. Then, as you move out toward your temple, apply a little more pressure so the line becomes thicker. If your hand is shaky, rest your elbow on your dresser or desk and sit down while you apply.
3. Create the "flick."

Loni angles her wing outward and upward toward the top of her ear. To copy her flick, draw a diagonal line about a quarter of an inch long from the outer corner of your eye toward the top of your ear. It should resemble a checkmark. Then, smooth out the top of the check using a makeup remover-soaked cotton swab so it looks super-clean, pointy, and precise.
Yeah, we're kind of obsessed with Loni's cat eye. Will you try wearing this sexy eyeliner look this weekend?
